FELDA SAHABAT JETTY
Built and first operated in 1988, Felda Sahabat Jetty has been in operation for almost 30 years. The jetty was built in three phases, it was elongated each time to accommodate larger ships requiring high water depths when anchoring. A total 1,250m in length and with 12m water depth, it is possible for ships up to 50,000mt dead-weight tonnage (DWT) and 250m length overall (LOA) to berth at the jetty.
This jetty also provides four wharfs that can carry two dry cargo ships at Wharf 1 and Wharf 2 and two liquid cargo ships at Wharf 3 and Wharf 4, respectively. With an average of eight ships docked each month, the jetty receives more than 100 ships annually from various countries.
The jetty is equipped with five liquid cargo lines at a capacity of 250mt/hour per line and equipped with two loading bins that could accommodate up to 2,000mt Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE) per day.
The jetty serves liquid and dry cargo ships that export palm oil products from FGV palm oil mills and refineries in Sabah to international countries such as Pakistan, Australia, South Korea, China and New Zealand. Among the products exported are Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO), Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO), Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) and PKE. Besides ships exporting palm oil products, this jetty also receives military ships to dock for clean and fresh water supply.
Sahabat jetty is certified with the International Ship and Port-Facility Security (ISPS) Code since July 1, 2014. This ensures that it is in compliance with international standards issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), providing a safe harbour facility to any international ship from any country.
